Aside from specific series, there is an on-going, rolling submission process for all forms of time-based work: video, performance, animation, music, motion graphics, poetry and other texts, audio works, personal stories and recordings, documentaries.
We will contact you if your work is chosen for TV.
Time Limit for TV Submissions: 30 sec to 10:00 min.
This site primarily features work by the School of Art & Design community however we welcome outside work which will be juried on a case-to-case basis.
Currently, you will need a YouTube ID to submit your video to PLAY which means you must first submit your video to YouTube.
- Once you’ve submitted your video to YouTube, note the YouTube ID of your video (e.g. d8eSR2i). It appears in the browser window after the =. (Note, make sure to take the entire ID after the =.)
- Fill out the online submission form: http://www.playgallery.org/submission-form. The form will ask you for the YouTube address/ID.
- Your video will be posted within a few days in either the All Submissions or Featured Category.
- If your video is chosen for PBS, we will contact you about delivering us a broadcast-quality format.
NOTES ON COMPRESSING A VIDEO FOR YOUTUBE
We do not recommend using Final Cut Pro’s MPEG4 Compressor. We have better luck with Divx or H264. For more detailed help with video compression visit our Compression Suggestions for YouTube page.
